Extend Your Celebrations - Wedding Accommodation at The Cow Shed
When it comes to planning your wedding, one of the biggest decisions you will make is choosing a venue. While there are plenty of options available, booking a wedding venue which also offers accommodation has always been the most popular choice.
This month's blog talks you through our various self-catering options, all of which are within a short walking distance of The Cow Shed. They are located on the outskirts of Crail - a beautiful, Fife fishing village with a working harbour and historic centre...and, of course, fresh lobster on request!
SYPSIES FARMHOUSE
For those who just landed here, we're especially proud of our newest accommodation, Sypsies Farmhouse. We officially launched the stunning house in 2023, exclusively for our wedding parties.
The Charming farmhouse is bang next door to the venue, and can accommodate up to 14 guests, across 6 bedrooms. The open plan kitchen/living/dining room is a perfect space for wedding parties to gather before and after the big day, and there are 2 other reception rooms (one with a double sofa bed) giving everyone plenty of living space to spread out and enjoy the comforts of a home from home. guests also have use of the private garden and patio, where they can marvel at the sweeping sea views.
Sypsies Farmhouse requires a minimum 3 night stay, and our wedding groups usually take advantage of the beautiful house and gardens to enjoy the build up to the wedding with family and friends, and then decompress the day after! THE COW PADS
'Gertie' and 'Daisy', our two Cow Pads, offer you modern style in a peaceful, country setting - perfect for a romantic getaway; being only a one minute walk from the venue, they are also perfectly located for wedding couples and guests. We are really proud of our converted shipping containers, which are fully insulated and 90% powered by green energy from the farm. Both Cow Pads accommodate two guests, with a small kitchenette, double bed, and ensuite shower room. Gertie has an industrial, corrugated iron style shower room, while Daisy has a more retro feel with patterned tiles. Outside each Cow Pad is a private deck with a private, heated bath surrounded by pretty festoon lights.

THE COTTAGES
We have 4 traditional farm cottages which are right beside the venue, and vary in size and layout: 'Sypsies', 'Cradle' and 'Meggie Allans' each sleep up to 4 people; and the newly renovated 'Mick's Cottage' has 4 en-suite bedrooms and sleeps up to 8 guests (or 10 with the sofa bed). The cottages require a minimum 3-night stay, and are ideal for wedding parties who are looking to settle in at the farm and enjoy our beautiful setting.

OUR ADDITIONAL SELF-CATERING PROPERTIES
Our sister company, East Coast Cabin Co also has other properties located through the East Neuk, including a house in Elie that can sleep up to 11 people, a coach house approximately 2 miles south of St Andrews that sleeps 8, and The Hay Shed and Potting Shed (also 2 miles from St Andrews) which both sleep 2 adults, plus 2 children in our fun mezzanine areas. All the properties have outside, heated bath tubs!

With all this accommodation, we can cater for destination weddings, and those looking to take full advantage of their exclusive time at The Cow Shed Crail. Lots of our couples have enjoyed multi-day weddings: mixing things up across three days with intimate suppers at Sypsies Farmhouse, large BBQ's in our gardens or Courtyard, and informal gatherings in the venue itself. What makes these extended wedding celebrations even more special, is having family and friends overnight on the farm, so you can really make the most of your time together.
